Prismatic Design System

Prismatic Design System

As Prismatic’s first in-house designer, I joined a marketing team that lacked both a project management system and a structured design process. The VP of Marketing, coming from a human resources background, was new to running a large marketing function and had never worked with a designer before. The team needed clarity, scalable workflows, and a consistent brand foundation that could align across marketing, product, and external stakeholders.

My goal was to:

  1. Establish a unified design system in Figma that could serve both product and marketing teams.

  2. Create a centralized knowledge base in Notion for documentation and external collaboration.

  3. Improve project management practices, including a ticketing system for design requests, to bring visibility and efficiency to the marketing team’s workload.

Action

  • Figma Design System: Built a scalable master library in Figma, including brand components, templates, and iconography to support both product and marketing.

  • Notion Brand Hub: Authored and organized documentation for how to use brand assets, ensuring external partners and new hires had a single source of truth.

  • Project Management Upgrade: Collaborated with the senior Demand Gen team member to restructure the marketing team’s project management tool. I designed a streamlined request intake workflow, introduced SLAs, and created a design ticketing system to support both internal teammates and external cross-functional partners.

  • Education & Training: Facilitated onboarding and process education sessions with the VP of Marketing and team members, guiding them on how to use the new design system, project management tool, and request workflows.
